ABOUT US
LOBC is an organization that has been assembled in hopes of bringing public outdoor basketball hoops back to Lakewood, OH. There are only four of us on the committee, but there are plenty more on the streets that support the cause. All four are Lakewood residents representing different walks of life while uniting under the common belief that basketball is good for the soul. It’s a part of our community’s identity, and we find it necessary to make basketball available to all of our residents once again.
"We're too diverse of a city to reject something as simple as basketball hoops. Basketball is one of those international sports that everyone can understand and partake in. Hooping it up at Lakewood's courts was a big part of my childhood growing up. As bad as it is for me to not have a place to play anymore, I hate to think about our youth having no place to enjoy the thrills, the exercise, and the friendships that can be made at a local public basketball court." -Jordan
